Air Washer

An air washer, also known as an air scrubber, is a device used to improve indoor air quality by simultaneously humidifying and cleaning the air. It operates by drawing air through a wetted media, typically made of porous material, where impurities are washed out and trapped in the water, while moisture is added to the air.

Air Filtration : Indoor air is drawn into the air washer unit by a fan or blower and passed through a wetted media or filter. This media is usually made of materials such as cellulose, synthetic fibers, or foam, and is kept moist by a water reservoir or pump system.

Particle Removal : As the air passes through the wetted media, airborne particles such as dust, pollen, pet dander, and other contaminants are captured and washed out by the water. This effectively purifies the air and removes allergens and pollutants.

Humidification : In addition to air filtration, the air washer adds moisture to the air by evaporating water from the wetted media. This helps to increase indoor humidity levels, which can be particularly beneficial in dry climates or during the winter months when indoor air tends to be dry due to heating systems.
