Bifurcated Fan

A bifurcated fan, also known as a double-width double-inlet (DWDI) fan, is a type of centrifugal fan configuration that features two separate inlet openings and impellers within a single fan housing. This design allows for increased airflow capacity and efficiency compared to single-inlet centrifugal fans.

Double-Width Double-Inlet Design : Bifurcated fans have a unique design with two inlet openings located on opposite sides of the fan housing. Each inlet feeds air into its respective impeller, which is mounted on a common shaft within the housing.

Impellers : Bifurcated fans have two impellers, one for each inlet, mounted on a common shaft within the fan housing. The impellers are typically backward-curved or backward-inclined blades designed to efficiently accelerate and direct airflow radially outward from the center of the impeller.

High Airflow Capacity : The bifurcated design allows for increased airflow capacity compared to single-inlet centrifugal fans of similar size. By utilizing two impellers, bifurcated fans can generate higher airflow rates and static pressures, making them suitable for applications with demanding airflow requirements.
