A double skin air washer is a type of air washer system used in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) applications to condition and clean air before circulating it into indoor spaces. It consists of two layers or skins: an outer casing and an inner casing separated by a space or chamber. The outer casing is typically made of durable materials such as galvanized steel or aluminum, while the inner casing is often made of corrosion-resistant materials such as stainless steel or plastic.
Air Circulation : Indoor air is drawn into the air washer unit through a fan or blower and circulated through the system.
First Stage Filtration : The air passes through a series of filters located within the outer casing of the air washer. These filters capture larger airborne particles such as dust, pollen, and pet dander, helping to improve indoor air quality and protect the inner components of the air washer.
Water Evaporation : The conditioned air then enters the inner casing of the air washer, where it comes into contact with a wetted media surface or water spray system. Water is continuously circulated over the media or sprayed into the air stream, causing evaporation to occur. This process helps to humidify and cool the air while also washing out impurities and contaminants.
