Multistage Centrifugal Blower

A multistage centrifugal blower, also known as a multistage centrifugal compressor or multistage centrifugal fan, is a type of air-moving device that utilizes multiple stages of impellers to generate high-pressure airflow. These blowers are commonly used in applications requiring high-pressure air or gas compression, such as pneumatic conveying systems, gas boosting, process air compression, and industrial vacuum systems.

Impeller Stages : A multistage centrifugal blower consists of multiple stages of impellers arranged in series along a common shaft. Each impeller stage comprises a rotating wheel with curved blades that accelerates and directs the airflow radially outward from the center of the impeller.

Diffuser Sections : Between each impeller stage, there are diffuser sections designed to convert the high-velocity kinetic energy of the airflow into static pressure. Diffuser sections gradually decelerate the airflow and increase its pressure as it passes through each stage.

High-Pressure Output : The multistage centrifugal blower is capable of generating high-pressure airflow, typically ranging from a few psi (pounds per square inch) to several hundred psi, depending on the number of stages and the design parameters of the blower.
