Wet Type Paint Booth

A wet type paint booth, also known as a water wash paint booth or water curtain paint booth, is a type of paint booth used for spray painting applications where water is utilized as part of the filtration process to capture overspray particles and contaminants generated during the painting process. Wet type paint booths are commonly used in automotive refinishing, industrial coatings, and other applications where water-based filtration systems are preferred or required.

Water Curtain : The primary filtration mechanism in a wet type paint booth is a water curtain or water wash system installed at the back of the booth. The water curtain consists of a series of water jets or spray nozzles that create a continuous curtain of water across the back wall of the booth. As overspray-laden air passes through the water curtain, the water captures and entrains overspray particles, contaminants, and paint fumes, effectively removing them from the airstream.

Sump : The water and overspray particles collected by the water curtain flow down into a collection sump or tank located at the bottom of the booth. The sump is designed to contain the wastewater and overspray mixture, preventing it from re-entering the booth or escaping into the surrounding environment.
